Hannah and Gill Double Up as WBB Hit Chudleigh for Six

New signing Beck Hannah opened his account for Watts Blake Bearne with two goals in a 6-0 victory at Chudleigh Athletic. Cam Gill also scored twice for the Claymen who sit at the top of the Torbay Clearance Services Premier Division on goal difference. Benjamin Lewis Berrow and Gavin Weeks completed the goal-scoring for WBB while new ‘keeper Callum Jack made it two clean sheets in his opening two games.

There were braces for both Matt Beer and Ollie Kewell at Broadpark as Kingsteignton Athletic scored six for the second time running, beating East Allington United 6-2. Mark Voisey and Sam Barnes also found the back of the net for the Rams with Finn Bullingham and Finlay Watson on target for the Pirates.

Brixham AFC Reserves are also on maximum points after a narrow 3-2 home win over a Paignton Saints Reserves side playing their first game of the campaign.

A Luke Brown penalty and Tom Moody goal at Osborne Park gave Buckfastleigh Rangers the half-time advantage against Newton Abbot ’66. Matt Maller scored his second goal of the season after the break as Rangers ran out 3-1 winners.

An entertaining derby at Erme Park saw visiting Elburton Villa Reserves race into an early lead against Ivybridge Town Reserves. Goals from Scott Allen and Billy Tedder-Hart in the first seven minutes gave Villa a strong advantage, but former Plympton striker Mike Vanstone struck twice for the Ivies to ensure a share of the spoils.

Waldon Athletic took the lead at Millbridge in the Devon Premier Cup but following a red card, the home side turned the tables on the Torquay side who eventually bowed out 5-2.

There was also disappointment in the Devon Senior Cup for Buckfastleigh Rangers Reserves who lost out 4-0 at home to Westexe Park Rangers.

AFC Morchard Bishop ended South Brent’s Intermediate Cup hopes with a 2-1 away win. Watcombe Wanderers Reserves progressed to the Second Round with a 3-2 home win over South Zeal United Reserves, Sean Brown with a double and Jack Lavercombe also netting.

Torquay Town stormed to their second league win of the season in Division One. Curtis Booth, Kye Graham, Danny Rushe and Jacob Snell each made the score-sheet in a 4-0 triumph over fellow Torquay side Barton Athletic.

Morley Rangers lead the division following their 1-0 win at Babbacombe Corinthians, Corbin Mackin with the goal. It was a different story at Lewthorne Cross, and Beesands Rovers will still be scratching their heads, wondering how they only came away with a point. Leading 5-0, a Bees win seemed nailed on but Villa battled back to secure a 6-6 draw. Villa’s Dan Langford and Beesands’ Ben Williams each claimed hat-tricks. Matthew Warman scored twice and Robert Young was also on target for Villa. Lee Morgan’s double and a single from Jamie Watts completed the score-sheet for Rovers.

Joe Windsor scored twice as Paignton Villa routed Upton Athletic 6-0 at South Devon Sports Centre. Richard Malone, Thomas Mayer, Graham Mercieca and Harry Atkinson also celebrated goals for unbeaten Villa. Harbertonford are yet to pick up a point following a narrow 2-1 home loss to Plympton Athletic. Grant Craven and Ryan Hollett scored for Athletic with Harbertonford benefitting from a Tyler Pickering own goal.
