Brixham AFC Reserves have taken a narrow lead at the summit of the TCS SDFL Premier Division as they scored three without reply at fellow Torbay side Barton Athletic.
Alex Harding found the net again and was joined on the score-sheet by Mark Griffiths and Lloyd Tucker as the Fishermen completed a back-to-back double over their Torbay rivals.
Second-placed Buckfastleigh Rangers moved to the top of the division’s goal scoring charts with a resounding 6-1 home win over Galmpton United while Ryan Lucassi is now the Premier Division’s leading goalscorer after his hat-trick in that game. Brandon Jones, Charlie Morgan and substitute Tom Moody also found the net for Rangers.
Watts Blake Bearne complete the top three and remain unbeaten following a 2-2 draw at home to Elburton Villa Reserves.
Salcombe Town felt they deserved more from their game against East Allington United as they lost for the first time this season. Goals from Ashley Yeoman and Jake Favis weren’t quite enough to get the Crabs a point with Josef Sita’s goal clinching the game following strikes from Dan Bowles and Matt Bodman.
Meadowbrook Athletic are making up for lost time with Charlie Johansen scoring five times in a 7-3 home victory over Ivybridge Town reserves. Thomas Comyn and sub Liam Collings also found the net for Brook while Alex Henniker put away two for the Ivies.
Carlton Allen scored a hat-trick at Osborne Park as The Windmill achieved their first league win of the season at the fifth time of asking. Andrew Crowmac scored twice and Ashley Walker added his name to the score-sheet as the Plymouth side beat Newton Abbot ’66 6-0.
It was a day for the travellers in Division One as all bar one game ended in an away victory, the other finishing all square.
Kingsteignton Athletic lead the division by a single point following their 7-2 triumph at Paignton Villa. Aaron Paget scored four for the Rams with Tom Reeves managing a brace and Nathan Isaac also on target; Graham Mercieca scored both goals for Villa.
Waldon Athletic are in second spot. Josh Clarke and Callum Crews helped the Clarets to a 2-0 lead at Harbertonford with Daniel Hughes getting Ford a goal back before the break. Substitute Jordan Baggott dispatched a penalty to level the scores but two goals from Joseph McFarlane and another from Ajay Tehrani secured Waldon a 5-2 victory.
Callum Noyce banged in four goals for third-placed Ashburton as they returned from Upton Athletic with the points. Tom Arnold also managed a hat-trick and Damien Francis-Furnivall added a goal as the Ashes scored eight with no reply. Meanwhile, Jake Powell and Ben Hamilton-Hill scored for unbeaten Paignton Saints in their 2-0 win at Chudleigh Athletic Reserves.
Elsewhere Kingskerswell and Chelston fought out a 1-1 draw with Buckfastleigh Rangers Reserves. There was also some sad news as Abbotskerswell informed the league that they would have to withdraw their team from the competition.
Dan Langford reached 24 league goals for the season with a hat-trick for Division Two leaders Ilsington Villa in their 8-0 thrashing of Paignton Villa Reserves. But Langford was not the game’s top goalscorer with Matt Warman putting away four goals. Jamie Beer also found the net.
Simon Ross doubled up for Torquay Town and there were goals from Jamie Chamberlain and Danny Rushe as unbeaten Town won 4-1 away at Dartmouth AFC Reserves to stay second. Josh Bruckner scored for Darts.
Ryan Mellish scored twice for Babbacombe Corinthians in their 4-0 home win over Stoke Gabriel and Torbay Police Development. Scott Hele and sub Jack Wilkinson also hit the back of the net for Corries.
With six points deducted, Dittisham United are bottom of the division despite wallopping Barton Athletic Reserves 16-2! Jacob Lloyd-Mullen claimed seven for himself to put him second in the division’s goal scoring table. Stephen Rowdon scored a hat-trick and there were doubles for Jonathan Beardsmore and Joe Doyle. Christopher Beardsmore and Christopher Fisher also netted for the Plums.
In Division Three, Matt Elmore and Samuel Pearce scored as Watts Blake Bearne Reserves preserved their 100% record away at Galmpton United Reserves, Charlie Rowe with Galmpton’s effort.
Shane Pike and Josh Piper each celebrated hat-tricks as Brixham Town cruised to an 11-0 win over Paignton Saints Thirds. Brendan Boddy scored twice and there were further goals from George Meredith, Jack Turak and sub Harry Chastney. A Keran Fletcher hat-trick helped third-placed Newton Abbot ’66 Reserves to a 5-3 win away at Chudleigh Athletic Thirds.
In Division Four, Alistair Chuchuck scored twice for leaders Bovey Tracey Reserves as the Moorlanders ended Ivybridge Town Development’s unbeaten start with a 4-1 victory at Erme Valley. Jamie Soper and Robert Young scored for South Brent in a 2-1 win at Ipplepen Athletic Thirds. It’s now five out of five for Brent. Waldon Athletic Reserves have also won all five of their games following their 4-2 defeat of Babbacombe Corinthians at Windmill Hill. Paul Christie was another player to score seven this weekend as his side Brixham Town Reserves coasted to a 12-4 victory at Watcombe Wanderers Thirds.
Torquay Town Reserves exited the Devon Intermediate Cup with a 5-1 home loss to the University of Exeter’s sixth team.
