Devon FA have unveiled a new programme for adult 11-a-side coaches and managers.  For £30, clubs/managers can access 12 Pro-Game masterclass events with top coaches in Devon including Paul Sturrock, Kevin Nicholson and Alan Gillett (ex-England U18 and Malawi manager).  

There are also online mentoring sessions with Exeter City Assistant Manager Wayne Carlisle, to help you build on these workshops and use them with your squad, and even a series of additional 20 plus workshops available (which might interest those with teenage players or U18 linked squads etc).

There’s no obligation to go to every event. Whilst they’ll all cover useful content – from tactical ideas to psychology – we know coaches are busy.  So come to as few or as many as you want. Some events, like ‘Finishing Technique’ with ex-Torquay United and Nottingham Forest striker J P Pittman may help you to improve technique in your players. Others, like ‘Defend to Dictate’ with Alan Gillett will help you tactically off-the-ball.

It’s a great offer, unique to Devon, and with so much available we now need coaches to start booking on to events!  Former Torquay United players, together with ex-manager Kevin Nicholson, will be running the first practical workshop for the Adult 11v11 outcome on Thursday 23rd September at Coombeshead Academy. This will be on ‘Small Sided Games & Conditions’ (for 11-a-side outcomes) and will involve TCS South Devon Football League side Newton Abbot ’66.
