Gulls Announce Flurry of New Arrivals and Re-Signings

Senior Cup champions Torquay United announced a number of new signings and re-signings over the past few days, ahead of their pre-season game away to Cardiff City on 10th July.

The first announcement, made on 2nd July, was the re-signing of forward Ellie Bishop. Defences beware…We cant wait for Ellie to develop even further this season on the pitch. The second re-signing of the day was year’s most improved player Laura Lewis. We’re all looking forward to seeing her secure a position in the starting 11 this season. Jana-Kate Richards was the third re-signing of the day. Inspirational in a central defensive role last season, Jana also gives the squad an attacking option. Dedicated and experienced with a real hard working attitude. The last re-signing of the day was a special one to everyone at the club. Record appearence holder of nearly 100 games, and the club Player of the Year award winner, Danni Wyatt has re-signed for 22-23.

The club made four more re-signing announcements the following day. Goalkeeper Konnie Kleczkowski will be entering her second full season between the sticks. She has made remarkable progress in her adopted position with a hard working learning ethic and great distribution ability. The second re-signing announcement was Antonia Nash, a player who spent the vast part of last season injured. It’s great news that she’ll be back for the Yellows in 22-23. The third re-signing announcement was Scarlett Williams. Scarlett is very popular amongst the squad, does a lot of work off the pitch and loves the club. She has patiently waited for her chances and is keen to develop in 22-23. Cup final heroine Sasha Mole rounded off the day’s re-signing announcements. When she’s not filling in as emergency goalkeeper, Sasha is a skilled centre-back and central midfield player with a great footballing brain and fantastic shooting ability.

Torquay kicked off last Friday’s announcements with a couple of new arrivals to the club. The Gulls are excited to welcome Mia Preston from Exeter City Women. Mia is a fantastic talent and we cannot wait to to see her get on that pitch in 22-23. The second new signing is Emma Ayres. Emma is a very experienced goalkeeper in women’s football, in the Devon area, and brings her enthusiasm to develop new skills in the position, along with the deire to challenge herself at our league level. The third announcement was the news that Tracey Cross has re-signed for the 22-23 season. Inspirational throughout last season, Tracey brings a very astute footballing brain and knowledge which she uses well to help motivate the team. Finally, the club revealed that Rebecca McMullin has agreed to re-sign for the club after a successful dual signing period with the club last season. Becs joins the strong central midfield team at the club: a real battling player with a tenacious attitude.
