Buckland Athletic Under-12s started their home campaign with another resounding victory, cheered on by the Ladies team.

Buckland appeared to score 14 times but the game was officially recorded as a 13-0 win. Codi Dicken added to her tally with the first of the game, her shot going in off the post. Codi then made it 2-0 when she converted Ava Mitchell’s corner. The third was an unfortunate own goal off the Torquay captain before the goal of the game, a powerful shot from Robyn Mitchell on the left after she had received the ball from Codi. Codi then completed her hat-trick, firing the ball into the roof of the net, and goal number four came soon after, Mia Davenport with the assist this time. Codi burst through the middle and slotted home for her fifth and Buckland’s seventh and there was time for Ava to set up Codi once more before the break, Codi making no mistake with a fierce shot for 8-0 at half-time.

Georgia Turner was the first to score after the break, Courtney Horne crossing from the left and Georgia finishing nicely into the roof of the net. Then Ava got off the mark after her shot from the right went in off the post. Codi’s seventh of the morning, a powerful shot into the centre of the goal, made it 11-0 and she polished off her scoring with a run and shot from the right. Buckland weren’t quite finished though. Robyn lobbed the ‘keeper after a Torquay clearance landed at her feet before a fine finish from Erica Carey made it 14-0.
