Torquay United Women’s team have agreed to continue playing their home fixtures within the South West Regional Women’s Football League, at South Devon College Sports Centre, for the 2020/21 season.
Having used the sports centre for the whole of last season the Gulls were keen to get their home ground confirmed.
“It’s great for us to secure South Devon College Sports Centre as our home ground for the new season. We were very keen to stay at the fantastic facilities at the college for another year and get the deal completed early on in pre-season so we can ensure that any potential signings know the match day facilities they will be using, are first class. We have a great relationship with the college and hope this will continue for many years to come.” said Assistant Manager Matt Green.
Mike Howes, South Devon College Sports and Fitness Manager added, “We are delighted to be working closely with Torquay United Women’s Football Club to provide a home for their first team and Under 18’s team next season. This is a great opportunity for a successful transition for young talented players to aspire to their first team with them all under one roof. Our leading-edge South Devon College Sports Centre is of the very highest quality and allows local grass roots clubs, aspiring young players and professional’s alike access to the best possible facilities.’
United will now wait for the release of their league fixtures in August before the start of the season, which everyone hopes will be in September.
