TUFC Radio

We hope you will join us in person at as many games as possible, in what promises to be another exciting season. But if you can’t, there’s no need to miss a kick in 24/25.

For the first time, you can hear live commentary from all of the Torquay United Women’s matches, both home and away, throughout the campaign. The season coverage is sponsored by Grosvenor House, Torquay, licensed bed & breakfast, offering comfy beds and great value.

With the TUFC Radio kit now passed over to the women’s team, you can join us on matchday Sundays from 1.45 pm for all the action from the South West Regional Women’s Premier League and cup competitions, as the Gulls Girls seek promotion back to the National League.

We will continue streaming commentaries on the Mixlr platform; you can access them in several ways.

  1. Click on the EVENT on this page or the home page of the website when we are broadcasting
  2. Use https://tufcwomen.mixlr.com in your browser
  3. If you already have the Mixlr App from having listened to TUFC Radio before, search for Torquay United Women FC

If you already have one or if you create a Mixlr login then clicking the FOLLOW button on the channel will ensure you get notified every time we go live!

And… technology permitting we aim to have the chat available too so we can include your questions and input on Sunday afternoons.

Matchday commentaries will be led by Ray Duffy, who has vast experience in both news and sports journalism.

He learned his trade in hospital radio, with his first ‘paid gig’, freelancing at Capital Gold Sport in London.  A full-time media career followed with 3 stints as News/Sport Editor at Active FM/Time FM in Romford, and time in BBC Local Radio, Sky News Radio, and for TalkSport.

Moving to Torquay in 2015, when he and his wife Paula bought their guest house, Torquay United coaxed Ray out of ‘radio retirement’ to provide commentaries for blind and partially sighted supporters in 2017.

Relegation saw the reintroduction of United’s website commentaries, and it was a chance commentary opportunity on the Devon Cup Final win over Exeter City, which led to Ray & Paula’s support of the ladies’ team, and ultimately to Ray heading up this season’s South West Regional Women’s Premier League.
