With league leaders, Marine Academy Plymouth Ladies securing their place in the Devon County Cup final, and United not in action after their cup exit at M.A.P. it was up to Sherborne Town Ladies to try and keep pace with United in the race for the South West Regional Women’s Premier League title.
And they did – just! Shannon Francis added two more to her season tally as Frampton Rangers Ladies threatened to derail Sherborne’s title ambitions, but Chloe Snook’s hat-trick ensured the visitors a slender 4-3 victory at Winterbourne Academy. Snook now leads the scoring charts with 19, Francis has 18, and United’s Lucy Solloway has 17. As far as the league table looks, Sherborne (33 points) are back to within a point of United in third. Both Sherborne and United have four games in hand on the leaders.
Pucklechurch Sports Ladies followed up a midweek win at AEK Boco Ladies which saw them leapfrog their hosts into sixth spot, with a 3-2 win at Poole Town Ladies. Lola Paul scored twice for Pucklechurch.
AEK Boco were 3-2 winners at Bishops Lydeard. Holly Meakins scored twice for the hosts, but a brace from Megan Bloomer saw the visitors to the three points. Boco are now back above Ilminster Town Ladies in seventh, by one point. Ilminster had the week off.
Forest Green Rovers Women versus AFC ST Austell Ladies was postponed.
