With South West Regional Women’s Premier League leaders Marine Academy Plymouth Ladies not in action on Sunday, United’s 3-0 win at Forest Green Rovers Women, took Torquay to the top of the table.
The other of the three unbeaten sides going into the weekend was Sherborne Town Ladies who beat AEK Boco Ladies one-nil. Kelly Snook was again on target for the Dorset outfit, while Boco had Jess Dobbins sent off.
Bishops Lydeard Ladies beat Poole Town Ladies 1-0 at Cothelstone Road, with Chloe Shipway’s goal helping distance the Somerset side from the bottom two.
Elsewhere, AFC St Austell Ladies and Frampton Rangers Ladies played in their respective County Cup competitions. Lucy Grose scored four times and Megan Ridgement twice as St Austell thrashed Wadebridge Town Women 9-0, and Shannon Francis grabbed a hat trick in Frampton’s 5-0 win over AEK Boco Reserves.
