If Marine Academy Plymouth Ladies think they’ve almost got the South West Regional Women’s Premier League wrapped up, then their three title challengers all posted a warning this weekend, and move three points closer to the league leaders.
While United were executing their 2-1 win at Frampton Rangers Ladies, Forest Green Rovers Women, and Sherborne Town Ladies were also stepping up the pressure on M.A.P.
Erin Williams scored a hat-trick, and substitute Tyra Wilson grabbed two late goals as Forest Green won 7-0 at AFC St Austell Ladies. Rovers remain second on 29 points, ten adrift of M.A.P. with two games in hand. Rovers travel to Plymouth next Sunday.
United sit third, a point further back but with four games in hand on the leaders, and still have to visit Manadon.
Sherborne Town Ladies kept it a four-way fight for the title in the fourth spot, as they beat Poole Town Ladies 4-2. Chloe Snook grabbed her 15th goal of the season to move within one of United’s Lucy Solloway and Frampton’s Shannon Francis at the top of the scoring charts.
Torquay’s next opponents, Ilminster Town Ladies were 3-0 winners at home to AEK Boco Ladies.
And Pucklechurch Sports Ladies played out a 3-3 draw against Bishops Lydeard Ladies. The visitors remain in the bottom two but move to within three points of Poole with four games in hand.
