In an eleven-team division, one team will always be sitting out league action each week, and this weekend, it was the turn of leaders, Forest Green Rovers Women, to sit and wait to see if any of their likely title contenders faltered.
As we know, Torquay United consolidated their second place with that comprehensive victory over AFC St Austell Ladies. Their goal difference and goals scored, though, are both far superior to the other contenders. But they remain two points behind FGR, having now played the same number of games.
Marine Academy Plymouth Ladies are third, and level on ten points with United having played a game more, after a 5-0 win at Frampton Rangers Ladies. Beth Overton and Amy Pridham each scored twice.
Ilminster Town Ladies are up to fourth spot with 9 points from five games, courtesy of a 5-2 victory over Bishops Lydeard Ladies. They did it the hard way though, coming from two goals down before a brace from Aimee Kingdon and goals from Jodi Cornwall, Ellie Orritt and Lily McNally completed the comeback.
Sherborne Town Ladies slipped to fifth as they drew 2-2 at Pucklechuch Sports Ladies. Hannah Dix and Amy Jeffries got the Pucklechurch goals.
And, Lucy Atkinson scored four times for AEK Boco Ladies, as they moved out of the bottom two with a 7-0 demolition of Poole Town Ladies. Emily Channing-Cone also scored twice.
