Torquay United will look to play their first game in almost a month, as Sherborne Town Ladies visit South Devon.\u00a0 And, in a bid to ensure some football after a four week break, the synthetic surface at Ivybridge Community College will play host to Sunday\u2019s fixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a battering from various storms in the South West over recent weeks, United have games in hand on virtually everyone else in the South West Regional Women\u2019s Premier League, but will face a long 2025, and may rather have some more points in the bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their final fixture of 2024 pitches Torquay against Sherborne town, until last weekend the division\u2019s only other unbeaten side.  That record ended spectacularly with a 7-4 home reverse to Frampton Rangers Ladies, in the wake of Storm Darragh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sherborne in turn then, will undoubtedly be heading to Devon to try and end United\u2019s unbeaten start, and they have the weapons to do so, if United are not at the top of their game.\u00a0 In their 7 games prior, Sherborne had four wins and three draws, including two (both 2-2) against table-toppers Marine Academy Plymouth Ladies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019re capable of scoring plenty, led by the unrelated Chloe and Kelly Snook. Kelly has thirteen goals to her credit this season, one more than United\u2019s Lucy Solloway, while Chloe has scored ten in the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United\u2019s home league form looks good on paper, but the opening 20 minutes against Poole Town notwithstanding, this will be their toughest encounter yet.  Torquay\u2019s women generally play well on synthetic surfaces, but having not played at Ivybridge before, will need to get used to the pitch and settle into a groove quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
